Marina Abramovic is a Serbian performance artist. Her works were quite controversial at the time. The memorable one for me was the Rhythm 0 (1974). At that time, she was really push her body to the limit, and to show her vulnerability to the public by let the public taking control of her own body with many objects, such as lipsticks, gun, whips and rose with thorns.

At first, the public were a bit hesitant because they didn’t know what to do and a bit shy. But soon after they knew what was going on with this performance, the public took in charge immediately. In the 6 hours of standing with the public, the situation was getting out of control gradually. One of them in the public, took a gun to let Marina held toward herself which was frightened enough then the other involved to stop it.
This was a very vulnerable and sentimental performance but also very powerful at the same time. Also, the objectification of women was also the key point on this performance.

After I understood the purpose of this performance, I think of what impact can be attached for my project. Then I think of it could be as I ask the guy who I interacted take control of me what he wants me to wear and what he wants me to pose in front of picture. So, this is the result:

He wants me to have my hands in the air to surrender and uses the flashlight as like a gunpoint. He said that I’m wearing this fur coat look like a bear and has the implication as he catch me in the wood. I think it’s quite fresh and really interesting.
