I developed my sense and knowledge of fashion in 2000s, so there’s a lot of inspiration would be taken from that era. I recalled my memories of the controversial ad campaign by Mario Testino in 2003 from Tom Ford’s Gucci. It was actually really bold to shave the model’s, Carmen Cass, pubic hair into a G logo and to show in the picture at that time. I was so shocked when I saw this kind of sexual implication images in fashion magazine back in 2003. But it also gave me a message about there’s no boundary and don’t be afraid to break the rules and to be edgy. I’ve never thought it would be an appropriate thing to have this kind of erotic touch images as a brand’s advertisement. For me, it was a huge inspiration at that time and I’m still very into it.
