Inspiration: Araki

Nobuyoshi Araki (荒木經惟)is a Japanese photographer who is famous for his picture with erotic touch. I discovered him when I was in junior high when strolling around in a book store. At that time, I already knew my sexuality as a gay man, so actually I saw his works in an artistic way, instead of filthy way. But still, I was so shocked about how he takes the picture of women’s body in a very straightforward way. His point of view in the pictures always makes wonder about the fine line between art and pornography. And I’m just wondering how people define his works on women’s body as art, not pornography?
