Juergen Teller is a German fashion photographer. He is known for his a bit of fun and candid with strong flashlight pictures. I’ve known him since I was very young. I was a young kid who’s really into fashion back in 2000s, and I started to see his works for Marc Jacobs ad campaign in the magazine at that time. I always love Marc Jacobs’ ads, because it’s not pretentious. It’s not the typical fashion ad campaign with everything seems all set and ready and perfect, it’s the image with its trueness and imperfect, and I think that’s what makes the picture perfect in a different way. I was so fond of his playfulness in his works and he always can capture the real spirit whoever or whatever the participant is.

I also love his works with the fearless for showing nudity. I like the way he presents the nudity in a natural and fun way.

Back in early 2010’s, it was a golden era for Céline by Phobe Philo. I loved not just the collection but also the ad campaign by Juergen Teller every seasons. The setting and lighting in the images look so random and candid, but through Mr. Teller’s lens, all looks so posh and iconic. Here’s the images of Daria Werbowy and the late Stella Tennant, who passed away in 2020, for Céline in 2011, may she rest in peace.
